Reality Blog: Building a Social Media Following? Don’t Do What I Did

  1. Interesting how you talk about balance. I’m finding it difficult to allocate “enough” time (whatever that means) to both my business site and my Money-Making Website. The way, I see it, I’m effectively starting 2 new businesses simultaneously.
When you look at it from this perspective, it’s an insane thing to do! Oh well…
I’m just starting to think about automating my social media posts to free up some time. Have you investigated automated scheduling?
And you’re right about becoming an “expert”. I’ve reached this point with my MMW, and must admit I’m still not comfortable with this tag yet!

  2. You know, Andrew, I just have to suck it up and do it. I’ve been resistant to using the paid version of Hootsuite and have already allocated my 3 free accounts. But instead of thinking of it as another monthly expense, I have to reframe it as “a thing that saves me time and ensures consistency in posting so I can reach a bigger audience.” I’ll probably do it sooner than later, so I can start posting to both my business pages and my MMW pages without having to worry about it.

As far as feeling like an expert, I think bartending school will help. And I KNOW you’ll become one on your subject matter as you begin your life on the road! Looking forward to keeping up with you.

    Best,
    Candice

    1. Yes, you’re right. If a paid service frees you up to be more productive then it’s at least worth investigating.

Well, if bartending school doesn’t make you an expert, at least you’ll have fun trying!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. It is interesting how easily one can become an “expert”. As Nick Usborne says, you just have to know more than your tribe. So true.

Good luck with your MMW, I’ll be keeping an eye on it. If it’s anything like mine, your MMW will take you down many unexpected paths… and some dead-ends of course. I’m loving the journey.

      Regards,
      Andrew
