Manifestation for Writers: 5 Practical Steps to Manifest Your Writer’s Life

6 minute read

After completing a three-month, one-on-one coaching program with a Certified NLP Practitioner (who’s also a Mindset and Manifestation Coach), I have extracted five practical and actionable steps that I consistently use to manifest my desired life — the life of a paid writer.

Even when I was just starting out, these steps helped me earn more than $5,000 in my copywriting business within 90 days.

Here’s the proof for that:

Depending on your circumstances, that may not be much for you, but it was huge for me. In fact, it surpassed the average annual salary in my home country of the Philippines, which is $3,218. I accomplished that when I was only 19. I point that out because it’s important to realize your age, background, and level of experience don’t need to keep you from manifesting your ideal life.

That was just the beginning…

When I made $5K in 90 days, it was in the months leading up to AWAI’s Bootcamp in October 2021. Since Bootcamp, I feel like I’ve manifested a “success snowball.”

Most recently, I won the Sales Letter Spec Challenge — from Sandy Frank’s Sales Letter Mastery Certification Program. That came with a $5,000 prize!

Compared to earning $5K in 90 days from multiple projects, receiving $5,000 for a single project was another huge (and fulfilling!) milestone for my copywriting career.

And, I credit a lot of my momentum to the exact same steps I’m about to share with you.

Now, I believe sharing these practical manifestation steps, meant just for writers, can help you bring your desires into your reality, too.

But first, let’s address the elephant in the room. Some people think manifestation is complicated… or even ridiculous.

If the idea of manifestation for writers makes you raise an eyebrow, I’d like to challenge you to give it another look… because manifestation is a lot like traditional goal setting, only better. A lot better. Think upgraded goal setting that’s more intentional and exciting! Goal Setting 2.0, if you will. Scratch that… make it Goal Setting 5.0!

Manifestation can truly help you reach your goals and expand the way you live your writer’s life.

Plus, it can definitely fuel your writer’s motivation, too!

Ready to dig in? Here we go….

1. Clarify your goal.

If you hop in an Uber, the first thing the driver does is ask exactly where you want to go.

No matter who’s driving — you, a friend, a colleague — if you’re going somewhere new, you need to know the exact location. Because, without a clear destination, you’ll probably end up getting lost.

The same goes for us as writers.

We need to set a definite destination. Meaning, we must first clarify what we truly want to achieve (where we want to go) for us to navigate the best path to reach our goals.

For example, aiming to become a paid web writer is good. But, setting a clear goal of putting $5,000 or $20,000 or even $100,000 in your bank as a result of your web-writing business is even better, because it’s more specific and tangible. It’s a clearer destination!

Would you agree?

Once you’ve identified exactly what you want — like earning a specific amount of money, living near the beach, working with a certain client — write it down on paper. Then commit to reading that goal every morning, right after you wake up.

Because, not only will doing this remind you of your desired destination, but it will also help you determine the next steps you need to take and reignite your excitement as you move forward!

Sometimes, the closer we get to our goals, the more our minds self-sabotage us with fears and doubts, which is where the second step comes in…

2. Delete limiting beliefs.

If only getting rid of limiting beliefs were as easy as emptying the Recycle Bin! Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy button for this one. It involves some heavy lifting, and it’s a key step in manifestation for writers.

There are people who say the fear of failure is what stops us from going after what we want… but, what if we actually fear success more than failing?

Either way, fear is the ultimate driver of limiting beliefs — the parasite that eats up our dreams. And, you know what? The only way to kill this parasite is to not feed it.

How?

Avoiding negative self-talk is the first step. Start paying attention to how you talk to yourself in your own mind. When you find yourself saying negative things, reframe them in a positive way.

After that, start using progressive affirmations to feed your mind with empowering beliefs and starve your limiting beliefs to death.

Notice that I said progressive affirmations… what does that exactly mean?

If you tell yourself “I make $5,000/month” over and over again, but that’s not true yet, then it can feel like you’re lying to yourself and that can feed a deep-seated limiting belief that’s telling you, “I can never make $5,000/month.”

Instead, try something like this:

“Every day in every way, I am growing my web-writing business.

Because of this, I am attracting a $5,000/month income.”

Something like that — depending on the clear, well-defined goal you set.

To me that affirmation feels better and more sensible. But, when I started doing progressive affirmations, they felt a little weird at first. Still, I thought, it wouldn’t cost anything to try it and trust the process. And, I’ve been happy with the results!

With progressive affirmations, limiting beliefs don’t stand a chance. The way the progressive affirmation is structured is more rational than the typical limiting belief, so over time your mind accepts it over the limiting belief.

Before you know it, your fears and doubts will have “left the chat.”

When you’re working on battling your limiting beliefs, you can always use this template for your progressive affirmations:

“Every day in every way, I am (insert what you’re working on).

Because of this, (insert the result you’re manifesting).”

But, affirmations won’t work if they don’t make you feel anything, which is the next step in manifestation for writers is to…

3. Plant powerful positive emotions

You’re a writer, so you know how powerful emotions are. Just about everything you write is working to appeal to your reader’s emotions in one way or another.

Much like that, it’s helpful to think of your affirmations and desires in a way that sparks strong emotions.

So, use affirmations that prompt positive feelings like…

  • Joy
  • Gratitude
  • Inspiration
  • Hope
  • Love

These are the high-vibrational feelings that make us feel as if we’re on cloud nine, and feeling these emotions is what opens us up to receiving what we’re manifesting.

Then, as you’re working on manifesting something into your life, it’s crucial that you…

4. Cultivate your trust and belief

Know that what you’re manifesting is already on its way to you. Combat any doubts, fears, and limiting beliefs as they come up, so they don’t sabotage you.

And keep in mind, just like it takes time and effort (and effective copy!) for someone to trust a company, learning to trust and believe in your manifestations also requires work.

Which is why you must revisit and repeat the previous three steps to train your mind to believe what you want is truly possible for you.

Create a crystal-clear vision in your mind, where you have already achieved your goals, and feel it as if it’s already your reality… and visit that vision regularly.

When you do, detach yourself from any sense of need. Don’t feel like you need what you’re manifesting to be happy. Be excited to have it as an addition to what you already have.

And, don’t make the mistake of thinking manifestation for writers is like magic — it’s not.

Together with your trust and intentions, you must also keep taking inspired action, because believing is just half the battle.

There won’t be results without action.

So, set aside time to think about what steps you need to take to reach your goals — maybe it involves marketing your services and improving your copywriting skills.

Then, keep moving forward and take action, as if it were impossible to fail.

And in this process, remember to always…

5. Make time to be grateful

Being grateful puts you in a state of receivership. It helps you to be open to more good things coming your way. So, making time to be grateful for what you already have elevates your energy.

In addition to this, also be grateful for the things you’re manifesting. Just because you may not have reached your goal YET, it’s already on its way to you… and you’re on your way to it.

Gratitude won’t take you long, so there’s no excuse to skip it.

Take a minute or two from your schedule to be intentional about your gratitude… even and especially when you’re stressed out or having a bad day!

Because, when gratitude takes over, you’ll feel better.

Trying out these steps for yourself won’t take you long. In fact, you might want to take around five minutes right now to do the first step! And, once you’ve done that, you’re one step closer toward manifesting your writer’s life.

And, I’m curious, have you ever tried manifesting before? Or, is this something new for you?
