  1. So far, all of my web-writing clients have come through networking (people I know) or referrals.

    I’ve been thinking about doing some outbound marketing in early 2017, though, so this is really interesting to me. An industry average of 1.4% for click rates — wow! I think I read that before, but I forgot about it entirely.

    How did you decide on those demographics?

    1. Hi Randi,

      I was working with a coach at the time who helped me determine the exact parameters.

      I wanted to ensure that they have the money to spend on copywriting. This dollar threshold, and the fact that they can afford an employee(s), seems indicative of that.

      As for being a published book author, this is simply a way to narrow a huge field. By writing a book, my prospect is inherently saying they understand that you can make yourself more marketable – and that it’s desirable to do so.
