Jim, this is a powerful sentence! “A goal should be the result of a specific and executed plan.” Thanks for that inspiration for helping me see more clearly that a goal is a result.
Hi Jim, This is a great article! I especially love the “Thought for the month”! I’ll have to review that more than a few times this month. Spring is always the hardest time for me to sit in the chair and write.
I have heard all this before, but reading it again right now, was like perfect timing. It was good to get the point again that a goal is not about the end result, as much as it is about starting the journey.
It is a constant struggle for me to focus with my ADD (actually Inattentive/Disorganized), I constant have BSO (Bright Shiny Object) Syndrome. Too many goals, too many exciting things in from of me and I love learning way to much. Even writing this comment, I was distracted at least 4 times where I stopped writing and then came back to finish making my comment.
Like you, I have many goals, and I appreciate your comments and the reminder of ways to sit down and figure out how to get started, but more importantly to remember that every journey starts with the first step.

Hi Christina,
Thanks for the comment and the kind words!
Yes, the starting is always the hardest part … and, even though I wrote it, I also need to follow my own advice! 🙂
Cheers,
Jim.

Hi Justin,
Thanks for the comments, and I’m glad you found the post helpful!
BSO syndrome is a hard one … I’m still trying to get though writing a post without checking my phone at least 10 times! 🙂
Cheers, and thanks,
Jim.
