Reality Blog: What I Learned about Wix

  1. Hi Andrew. Thanks for the heads-up on Wix problems. I had already signed up before I saw your article but I have not finished my site yet and am thinking maybe I should just take the loss and move onto something else. I did have one question for you: You mentioned you did not know if one could keep one’s company email address if one decided to migrate the site elsewhere in the future. Did you ever find an answer to that question? WordPress is like a foreign language to me and I’d rather not go there if I don’t have to. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

    1. Hi. That’s okay. I’ve been using Wix quite regularly now for this one particular client. And it’s not getting any easier! In fact, just today the client and I were discussing budget pricing to migrate his website across to WordPress.

If I was you, I’d take the pain now and do it. Wix is simply too restrictive, plus they want you to pay for just about everything (e.g. Search bars).

Regarding email address migration, I’m reasonably confident you can migrate them across. Wix has a tie-in with G Suite (Google email). It seems the process is fairly straightforward. This article might help:

Let me know how you go with it. Regards.
